Soccer Route 2010

BACKGROUND

Soccer is without any doubt the most popular sports in the World. As a result we see multi-million player contracts, ultra-modern football stadiums, tremendous sponsorship deals, … Football has become big business. In Africa though, football is still played on the dusty streets, and rough football fields. However in 2010 the game will be brought to a higher level when Africans experience the sport at their doorsteps. If the World Cup can be hosted in Africa, then it is also high time the cup is won by Africans. The exploits of African soccer nations such as Ivory Coast and Ghana nullify the notion that this dream is a myth; Africa can grab that trophy!

The producers of Soccer Route 2010 have come up with the idea to present an exciting educative yet entertaining football programme that brings the game into perspective. The aim is to promote soccer in general and to contribute in the marketing of the game towards a global audience.
